Bone densitometry (DXA)
Please tell us if you have had a CT scan or MRI with intravenous injection of contrast agent or a barium digestive examination within 10 days before your examination here.
The examination takes place in 1 session of imaging (duration: 30 min).
During the examination under the camera please remain motionless.
Main clinical indications
- Looking for osteoporosis in adults
- Looking for delayed bone mineralization in children
- Looking for vertebral fracture
- Evaluation of the body composition
Bone densitometry not only enables the mineral density of bone to be measured, decreased in the case of osteoporosis, but it also permits the evaluation of the fat mass index and to look for vertebral fractures.
Axial osteoporosis. Fracture of the D12 vertebral body.
Osteoporosis predominantly cortical in the context of a hyperparathyroidism.
